As our College Counselor, you will empower scholars to navigate the college admissions and financial aid processes so they can realize their dreams of attending and graduating from a four-year university. Day to day, you will:

1. Advise and support a caseload of high school juniors and seniors through the college application and financial aid processes
2. Plan and facilitate college readiness workshops, clinics, and family meetings
3. Track and analyze student data to monitor progress and inform targeted interventions
4. Coordinate college exposure opportunities, such as campus visits and events

1. Experience working with high school students, particularly 11th and 12th graders
2. A strong understanding of the unique needs of students from underserved communities
3. Deep knowledge of the college admissions process
4. Expertise in financial aid, including FAFSA and/or the California Dream Act (CADA)

• You are passionate about supporting students to graduate high school and navigate the complex process of college applications and financial aid.
• You have at least two years of experience providing college counseling to 11th and 12th grade students—particularly first-generation and undocumented students.
• You’re familiar with FAFSA and/or the California Dream Act (CADA) and can guide students and families through financial aid and scholarship applications.
• You excel at analyzing student data and using it to tailor interventions and measure impact.

What You’ll Do

• Manage a caseload of approximately 65 juniors and seniors, offering individualized advising on every step of the college application and financial aid process.
• Facilitate college readiness programming, including clinics, family meetings, and essay-writing workshops (Writing Institutes).
• Guide students through FAFSA/CADA completion and scholarship applications to ensure financial accessibility.
• Coordinate exposure opportunities such as college visits, rep visits, and off-site summer programs like Summer Edge and Semester Zero.

Compensation: This is a Full-Time, exempt position. The full compensation range for this role in San Fransisco, CA is $78,000 – $95,000, with an initial offer range of $82,250 – $86,499 depending on experience. This structure ensures internal equity and allows room for growth during your time with us.
