Development Coordinator

Neighborhood Legal Services Program of the District of Columbia has an immediate opening for a development coordinator. This position will report to the development director and work closely with the attorneys and the Executive Director to help in the implementation of NLSP’s fundraising efforts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the logistical and fundraising details associated with the
• annual event, Jazz for Justice and other donor events.
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of major donor gift processing and acknowledgements.
•  Manage all data entry into the organization’s fundraising databases, Little Green Light and Airtable.
• Generate and create all reports from the database that are needed to facilitate fundraising efforts.
• Assist in the updating of content for the organization’s website.
• Be fluent in the attorney’s case management database and generate needed reports.
• Monitor grant funded projects to ensure that all deliverables are met during the grant period.
• Conduct background research on donors, foundations and prospects.
• Manage the timeline and logistics for the low dollar donor campaigns – semi-annual appeals, Giving Tuesday campaigns, etc.
• Reconcile contributions with the finance staff.
• Provide support to the major gifts’ consultant.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will possess:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Previous experience in a development position is preferred.
• Comfortable and adept at utilizing digital and social communication platforms.
• Proven ability to interact and communicate across a variety of stakeholder groups.
• Ability to independently manage workload and know when to manage-up on work challenges.
• Superior organizational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with donor databases.
• High level of experience using Microsoft Office.
• Analytical skills and the ability to engage in strategic thinking.
• Ability to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.
