Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment (UPHE) is looking for a passionate and motivated individual to work as an Education and Outreach Specialist on our HEPA Air Filtration project. The project is part of a partnership with the Utah Department of Health and aims to coordinate getting HEPA air purifiers in classrooms throughout Utah. This position will work with the Project Coordinator and Set up Coordinator to develop and implement a targeted plan to place air purifiers in Utah schools and classrooms. About the Air Filtration Project: The objective of this project is to get HEPA air purifiers in all public, private and charter Utah classrooms in K-12 schools. This may also include breakrooms, faculty lounges, gyms and other areas where students and faculty spend time. We will provide support and subject matter expertise to Utah educators, including principals, teachers, parents, students, and the general public about the health benefits of clean air in schools and how air filters can help improve health and test scores, reduce absences and other health benefits.
Hours & Dates: This is a full-time, temporary position, running through December 2022 (with the possibility of an extension).
Compensation: $18 - $22 an hour depending on experience
Responsibilities: The Education and Outreach Specialist will help fulfill the objectives of the UPHE agreement with Utah Department of Health and abide by all terms of agreement.
Requirements: The applicant must live in Utah, should be a self-starter, confident speaker, have strong written, analytical and communication skills, and be proficient in the usual MS Office and Google software. The ideal candidate will be interested in matters relating to health, environmental science and/or communications. Must have authorization to work in the U.S., have a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle and a computer.
