About Us:

Clean Water Action is a non-profit environmental political advocacy group founded during the passage of the landmark Clean Water Act in 1972.

Our mission is to protect our environment, health, and quality of life for all communities. Clean Water Action advocates for strong environmental policy on the local, state and national level through coalition building and grassroots pressure. For 50 years Clean Water Action has succeeded in winning some of the nation's most important environmental protections through grassroots organizing and political advocacy focused on holding elected officials accountable to the public.

Clean Water Action is dedicated to being an anti racist organization. We believe that those most affected by environmental degradation should be at the forefront of the environmental movement to contribute to broader goals of justice for the most vulnerable among us.

In order to be an effective ally and partner in environmental justice work, we are working to create a culture that allows all people to thrive and grow within the organization.
