    The Operations Manager plays a key role in managing cross-functional strategic projects and initiatives and enhancing internal processes and systems at MiracleFeet. Working closely with the administrative and leadership teams, this person is responsible for the direction, planning, and project management of initiatives in a variety of areas including operational excellence, compliance, risk management, strategic planning, and growth. This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional project manager to lead a diverse array of critical initiatives and projects in close collaboration with senior leadership team members, program partners, and stakeholders from across the organization.

    We are seeking an empathetic and effective cross-cultural and cross-functional communicator with excellent project management skills. The ideal candidate is energized by tackling complex projects and encouraging operational excellence and demonstrates adaptability and resilience under changing circumstances.

    This position reports to the Director of Finance and Operations. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, exempt position, which can be based in MiracleFeet’s Chapel Hill, NC office or remote in the U.S. Please note: we are looking for applicants who are ideally available to start in mid-November.

    Essential Functions

    Operations, Compliance and Risk Management (60%)

    • Create, monitor, update and drive rollout of new cross-functional policies and procedures. Previous examples include: Child Safeguarding, Data Privacy, Travel Safety, Research Misconduct, Anti-Fraud, and Risk Management
    • Maintain organization-wide policy tracker, ensuring that team leaders update policies as needed
    • Manage MiracleFeet’s Risk Register, ensuring that senior leadership conducts an in-depth review of organizational risk at least three times per year, recording notes, action items, and potential additional risk mitigation strategies
    • Manage MiracleFeet’s internal contracts processes: streamline collection of contract terms, draft contracts using templates, maintain detailed and timely records of contracts that are outstanding, executed and soon to expire
    • Manage MiracleFeet’s business insurance: complete all renewal applications, serve as point person for staff questions, submit any claims.
    • Oversee MiracleSuite, our organizational intranet: develop content, review for necessary updates, ensure staff can access and use important documents, templates, and reports.
    • Manage MiracleFeet’s charitable solicitation compliance with outside vendor
    • Recommend and support the implementation and maintenance of additional systems and structures as MiracleFeet grows

    Strategic Projects and Cross-Functional Initiatives (40%)

    • Manage high-level, organization-wide projects and initiatives, including:

    o Manage MiracleFeet’s global financial model, used as a tool for long-term strategic planning. Update, refine, and leverage data-driven insights to support CEO in long-term strategic planning, as well as annual operating planning.

    o Support Director of Finance and Operations and CEO with special projects such as: data analysis and forecasting, budget development, storyboarding, and research

    o Manage logistics for annual event between MiracleFeet’s partners and INSEAD Business School. Serve as primary point person for vendors, staff, partners, and students. Attend the event (typically in February in one of MiracleFeet’s partner countries) and provide on-site logistical management.

    o Serve as project manager of Child Safeguarding Working Group

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of work experience, particularly in nonprofit, cross-cultural and/or cross-functional environments, or equivalent
    • Excellent proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
    • Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
    • A self-starter with an ability to problem-solve and excel in a fast-paced environment.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to synthesize information
    • Strong project management skills with ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to manage upwards/play a high-level role without creating waves
    • Availability to travel internationally occasionally
    • Additional language abilities a plus
