Program Manager (Partnerships and Advising)

The Advising Program Manager will support the Advising department to implement BridgeYear designated cohorts at partner postsecondary training programs (e.g., short-term training programs and  apprenticeships). In addition, the Manager will be responsible for managing scholarship administration (in partnership with a third-party organization) and advising cohorts of students pursuing postsecondary pathways.

This full time opportunity is ideal for an individual excited by the idea of creating a program from scratch alongside a rapidly growing nonprofit organization. You will be joining an innovative and fun team to make an impact in Houston!

This position reports to the Chief Program Officer/Co-Founder. The work location is Houston, Texas but will be hybrid (some days in office, some days at home, some days at school site). 

YOU’D BE GREAT FOR THIS ROLE IF:

  • You are highly organized and find project management exciting and fulfilling. You can take multiple timelines, priorities, and deadlines and generate a project plan for everyone involved in the project to easily follow and understand. 
  • You enjoy coaching high school seniors and recent graduates to build their capabilities to navigate enrollment in community college and/or vocational training programs.
  • You thrive in work settings in which you have full control to create and design programming that supports the department’s goals. You can develop with minimal existing program structures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Scholarship Management: Liaison with an external scholarship administration organization to ensure scholarships are processed and distributed to students’ postsecondary pathway programs (e.g., community college or short-term training program) for timely enrollment
  • Project Management: Once partnerships have been established, maintain frequent communication and track progress towards shared goal of creating BridgeYear cohorts for recent high school graduates
  • Facilitation: Implement curriculum via application workshops with high school seniors seeking to enroll in community college or short-term vocational training programs
  • Advising Cohort: Follow up with a cohort of students during the students’ senior year of high school and for six months (December) after high school graduation (summer), providing support for students currently enrolled in a program and students seeking to find and apply to a program
  • Outreach: Collaborate within the Advising department to plan and implement outreach events

* Please note that if you are applying for both Program Manager roles, you only need to submit one asynchronous video interview. However, there is a separate video interview for the Strategy and Operations Director role. Part 1 for all roles is different and you must submit a separate Part 1 application for each role you are applying for.

HIRING TIMELINE:

The final round will involve in-person interviews with the team between December 14-17. We aim to make final decisions by December 23, 2021.
