ABOUT MINDS MATTER BOSTON

Minds Matter Boston (MMB) is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to connect driven and determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world. For the last 15+ years, every Minds Matter Boston graduate has gained admission to a 4-year college, and 97% of alumni are still enrolled or have graduated from a 4-year college.

Minds Matter Boston provides a 60-minute writing module to help our students hone their writing and critical thinking skills. The organization is seeking a Writing Instructor to lead this module and teach our students the core competencies of writing: grammar, vocabulary, syntax, clarity, and the stages of the writing process. We are determined to provide programming to strengthen our students’ skills in these areas, so that they are ready to write at the college level.

As needed, the Instructor will provide written feedback on student progress and celebrate class achievements. The Instructor is expected to support student academic writing needs, with the goal of helping students become more confident, effective and college-ready writers.
