    In this role you will have a core role in ramping up our efforts and meeting our ambitious fundraising revenue goals as well as increasing IA’s visibility as the leading organization in the women’s economic inclusion space.

    Opportunity

    In this role, you will drive and execute our individual and institutional fundraising strategy and expand key revenue streams. Reporting to and working closely with the CEO, you will contribute to our existing growth trajectory, while driving further transformative growth and impact.

    You will support our relational focus on fundraising and increase individual donations by delivering high quality in-person events that scaffold donor journeys. To this end, you will lead fundraising events and special projects to increase revenue, support leadership in their engagement with donors and prospects, oversee our limited grant seeking, and help shape the processes that strengthen our development efforts.

    You will report to the CEO and may have supervisory responsibilities in the future depending on team needs.

    Responsibilities:

    Donor engagement and relationship management

    • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors to Indego Africa by developing and executing individualized donor engagement strategies to retain and grow giving in the portfolio, achieving annual revenue goals.
    • Prepare the CEO for engagement with donors and prospects.
    • Create compelling communications for individual donors including proposals, impact reports, acknowledgements, presentations, and other materials.
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Indego Africa’s programs and fundraising priorities.
    • Develop systems for project management and coordination, including processes related to development operations and donor engagement.
    • Ensure complete and accurate records of donor engagement in DonorDock and internal documents.

    Development of a comprehensive corporate sponsorship program

    • Discover what is attractive to our current and potential corporate partners.
    • Solicit new sponsorships.
    • Corporate stewardship: ensure that the corporate partners’ benefits are received and that each partner receives an excellent experience.

    Management of fundraising events / special projects

    • Lead and execute tactical aspects of planning for Annual Gala (in October) in conjunction with various stakeholders.
    • Plan high touch fundraising events such as trunk shows, coffees in the office, fireside chats.

    Grants

    • Identify grant opportunities and create a grants calendar for the year.
    • Apply for grants.
    • Execute reporting requirements.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
    • You have 5-7 years’ experience with fundraising, communications, business development, or other relevant roles.
    • You thrive in entrepreneurial environments and in small and scrappy teams where you can take full ownership of the work.
    • You have a track record of activating donors and closing of 5-figure (minimum) gifts.
    • You have experience communicating with high value donors and prospects; you hold the highest standards of excellence for your written and verbal communication.
    • You excel at "getting things done" and can manage complex projects through their life cycles.
    • You can iterate in real time, employ data for decision making, and innovate and pivot to find success.
    • You are willing to accommodate meetings with donors and globally located colleagues outside standard business hours.
    • You have experience with CRM systems.

    Position Location

    This position is in person 4 days a week (5th day is remote and ½ day) in our NYC office.

    Pay Range

    • $70,000 - 80,000 dependent on experience

    Benefits

    • Year-round, half day, remote Fridays (with exception of the summer when Fridays are a paid day off)
    • Summer Fridays (4-day working week from Memorial Day to Labor Day)
