    To support our mission, we are seeking a Digital Analyst to join our team. The Digital Analyst will support our Development team’s effort to create a strong digital presence by developing robust analysis and actionable insights in digital engagement and fundraising campaigns, including our email, social media, website, advertising, and mobile messaging programs. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting data-driven decision making that informs how we engage and mobilize our millions of members, activists, and supporters online.

    Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Digital Engagement and working collaboratively across Development leadership, the Digital Analyst will support multiple digital marketing and analysis projects, data cleansing and manipulation, statistical reporting and analysis, and list management. The Digital Analyst will also assist in budget creation and re-projections, assessment for fundraising efforts, and engagement strategies for our members and activists.

    Principle Duties:

    • Track, analyze, and provide recommendations for optimizing digital advertising, social media, email, and SMS campaigns in support of fundraising, advocacy, and e-commerce outcomes
    • Standardize reporting and build dashboards that reflect organizational goals and communicate and/or visualize results across our digital campaigns
    • Coordinate with Development leadership to identify and analyze key marketing metrics to ensure campaigns are meeting engagement, retention, and revenue goals
    • Identify opportunities to improve data tracking systems and processes across the organization and implement those improvements as needed
    • Develop and manage testing priorities and roadmap in consultation with Development leadership and other stakeholders
    • Compile performance and cost data for budgeting/forecasting processes
    • In coordination with Development leadership, support the daily operations critical to ensuring the growth and longer-term stability of the Federation's digital efforts
    • Work with teams across the Federation to identify and obtain data that would be useful in strategic and marketing planning
    • Work with programmers, developers and business intelligence experts to communicate data needs across our teams
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Required Competencies, and Desired Skills and Qualifications: 

    • Proven track record of evaluating, analyzing, and steering outcomes for successful digital campaigns across email, social media, paid digital media, and/ or SMS programs
    • Superior quantitative skills and understanding of data and data management tools including familiarity with organic and paid media reporting tools/ dashboards
    • A consultative approach to working with cross-functional teams and the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate analyses, position recommendations, advise strategy implementation, and foster a disciplined approach to performance management and continuous improvement
    • Fluency with Excel, Access, Tableau, Google Analytics, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office Suite, and proficiency with CRM tools is required Experience with eCRM or online database programs like Engaging Networks, Convio, EveryAction, MailChimp, Constant Contact, or similar would be ideal.
    • High school diploma or GED required, College degree with a business concentration preferred
    • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in marketing, analysis, preferably with nonprofit organizations or mass constituency organizations with a focus on digital experiences

    Physical Requirements of the Job:

    Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example, using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about the workspace. The position requires mobility, including moving materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet).

    Travel Requirements: 

    In the event a remote candidate is selected, occasional travel may be required for team meetings, approximately 1 to 2 times per year on average.

    This position is based out of our headquarters in Reston, VA.     Compensation and Benefits:

    The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience.
