Job Title:     Human Resources Generalist - Recruitment

 Department:    Human Resources

 Supervisor:       Sr. Director of Human Resources

 Location:          DC main site location. May work out of Hyattsville and other LCDP locations as required. Presently, this is a hybrid position working on site and remotely.


Classification: Exempt/Salaried


The HR Generalist – Recruitment’s primary responsibilities are front end sourcing/recruiting, screening, and onboarding to achieve a diverse and inclusive staff, follow up and administrative tasks related to recruitment in a broad spectrum of positions, onboarding, credentialing, compensation, training, regulatory and compliance, employee engagement, employee file maintenance, and other generalist functions as required in sourcing and fulfillment of a diverse and inclusive staff. The position will also require interfacing directly with all levels of employees and HR vendors of La Clínica del Pueblo.

Qualifications: Required Education and Experience:

·        Bachelor’s degree

·        Previous HR experience

·        Previous recruitment and onboarding experience

·        Fully bilingual in English and Spanish

·        Experience with HRIS systems

·        Experience in online data management

·        Experience working in a diverse and inclusive organization

·        Demonstrated commitment to organization’s mission and values


Preferred Education and Experience:

·        Degree in Human Resources

·        Three to five years of HR experience

·        Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local legislation concerning employment laws, ERISA,

and other regulations

·        Experience in the creation and maintenance of reports in support of the full recruitment cycle

and other HR related areas

·        Experience working with ADP’s Workforce Now


Required Skills/Abilities/Certifications/Licenses:


·        Proficient in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams) or similar transferable


·        Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision and demonstrated initiative

·        Strong organizational and time-management skills

·        Detail-oriented and flexible with shifting priorities

·        Able to communicate effectively and present to diverse levels of audiences, with strong

presentations skills

·        Enthusiastic customer service (communication and interpersonal) skills to interface with all

levels of applicants and staff

·        Professional, self-motivated, energetic, and results-oriented


Duties and Responsibilities:


·        Works with hiring managers in identifying talent needs, preparing, reviewing, and updating job


·        Helps develop job descriptions and consults on job specifications and compensation

·        Conducts research to identify talent sourcing channels

·        Creatively sources candidates through cold calling, associations, LinkedIn, rosters, colleges,

universities, networking etc.

·        Networks within community/social groups to generate applicant leads, both active and passive

i.e. job fairs

·        Identifies, screens, and tests candidates (as required) to fill open positions

·        Schedules and participates in panel interviews

·        Conducts references and background checks

·        Conducts additional pre-employment checks as necessary based on position and grant


·        Creates and maintains accurate candidate tracking documents and systems

·        Communicates with hiring manager throughout the recruitment process

·        Prepares and presents all job offers and employee memos

·        Coordinates and collects all new hire paperwork and facilitates new hire onboarding

·        Coordinates new hire training schedules; and

·        Coordinates new hire orientations


·        Manages and administers HRIS – ADP Workforce Now Recruitment and Onboarding modules

·        Creates and delivers HR reports, ensuring HR data is kept current, accurate, and readily

available to support the invoicing, audit, and compliance processes

·        Maintains employee, I-9 and other new hire grants and contracts documentation files, and all

on-boarding documentation to ensure regulatory and compliance readiness with government

regulatory agencies (certifications, licensure, trainings, and other required documentation)

Additional Responsibilities

·        Serves as back-up and support to HR Generalist – Benefits and HR Generalist – Compliance


·        Participates in the Events and Wellness Committee

·        Participates in teams and working groups as assigned

·        Collaborates and supports other staff members to accomplish overall HR goals

·        Supports the HR department in the performance of other duties and special projects as


·        Follows and upholds La Clinica’s policies and procedures

·        Works collaboratively to ensure La Clinica’s mission and values

·        Performs other related duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

·        None 


Physical Requirements:

·        Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

·         Must be able to communicate verbally in person, remotely and through other sources

·        Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
