Position Title: Development Manager

Job Classification:   Part-time, $21-$25/hour commensurate with experience and qualifications; 20hrs/week, Year Round

Supervisor: Executive Director 

Organization Overview: 

Nourishing the North Shore (NNS) is a small nonprofit organization based out of Newburyport, MA. Through partnerships with farmers and regional food pantries, NNS programming has created both free and subsidized long-term, reliable access channels to local produce for middle-and-low-income community members. NNS is unique in hunger access in that we work within existing channels of food distribution to increase access to local food for community members who would otherwise experience barriers. NNS works towards more lasting change through advocacy of policy supporting an inclusive and just food system. 


Position Description:

The Development Manager works closely with the Executive Director to execute NNS’s development plan, ensuring vital revenue streams to support our programming and maximize our community impact. This position is part-time and designed to support NNS as it works to implement our new strategic plan to maintain and grow our community support. 


Development Manager Responsibilities:

Support:

  • Provide support to help build our individual donor base. 
  • Identify new donor prospects and devise communication plans and fundraising goals for each prospect.
  • Solicit business sponsors and ensure we are complying with our sponsorship packages. 
  • Support grant pipeline through pipeline tracking and review of grant guidelines. 
  • Assist with communicating NNS’s impact externally through newsletters, press releases, and social media.
  • Support the design and execution of fundraising events, including our spring seedling sale, and fall harvest party.
  • Work with NNS staff to update information and language on the website, social media, and other public materials as it relates to brand and development. 

Manage:

  • Manage all data entry in donor management software - Little Green Light
  • Manage all donor, foundation, and sponsor thank you’s, acknowledgements, stewardship, and records using Little Green Light.
  • Using Little Green Light, manage current donor stewardship and retention by observing donor patterns.
  • Compliance of sponsorship packages.

General:

  • Attend staff meetings, and strategize for increasing community impact. 
  • Represent NNS at fundraising events, and while out in the community. 
  • Help with occasional operations duties as needed.
