About The Kelsey

Based in San Francisco, operating nationally, we are a team of people with and without disabilities creating a disability-forward housing future. This means that we create housing solutions that center on disability access, inclusion, and equity, and which open doors to more affordable homes and opportunities for everyone. We have 240 homes in our pipeline and lead policy, advocacy, and field-building initiatives to support market conditions to make inclusive housing the norm.

All new and existing team members are expected to embody our values in their everyday work:

  • Disability-Forward: We bring our lived experiences as disabled people and allies to everything we do. We seek to create spaces where disability is a valued part of human identity and communities. We center access, practice interdependence, and value diversity.
  • Intentional: We are thoughtful, curious, and deliberate. We deeply understand the systems impacting our work and willingly learn new strategies needed to advance our mission.
  • Joyful: We value joy even as we undertake serious work and challenges. We create space for ourselves and our partners to experience community, fun, purpose, and happiness.
  • Radically Inclusive: We are welcoming, care-centered, and accepting. We practice hospitality and foster belonging for all people in our community and networks, across their many identities and ideas.
  • Groundbreaking: We pave new ways to understand and approach the work we do, unconstrained by status quo and stigma. We transparently and willingly share our knowledge with others to make more impact possible and open new opportunities.

This position supports collaborative efforts that unite diverse stakeholders across sectors to collectively champion bold, inclusive solutions. The Collective Impact team fosters powerful partnerships and networks, actively engages the disability community, and directs intricate initiatives that shape the landscape of accessible and equitable housing. Supporting advocacy and field-building, the Manager ensures the voices and lived experiences of people with disabilities are centered in cross-sector partnerships that catalyze systemic change and groundbreaking approaches.

We’re hiring a full-time Manager, Collective Impact, to join our Collective Impact Team. Our Collective Impact team is a newly formed team that fosters measurable social change through collaboration, data-driven strategies, and inclusive community engagement.

For this role, you will:

  • Monitor and summarize relevant policies, analyze potential impacts, and recommend and lead specific advocacy actions related to inclusive design.
  • Create resources, training, and presentations to support the expansion of key programs and strategic priorities, such as the Inclusive Design Standards, and continue to equip designers, builders, and developers with the necessary tools.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with consultants, community groups, and impact partners to advance organizational goals.
  • Manage impact and metrics to inform collective impact strategies Support feedback loops between The Kelsey’s on-the-ground properties and the broader team
  • Develop and maintain systems for tracking metrics and key performance indicators
  • Support case study development and narrative storytelling to highlight program impact
  • Support research and program effectiveness Write factsheets, submit public comments, and draft other relevant policy and advocacy collateral.
  • Support and contribute to developing content for The Kelsey’s Learn Center, Office Hours, and other Field-Building engagements, advancing best practices in disability-forward housing.
  • Cross-Team CollaborationWork collaboratively with other staff and relevant external partners to accomplish goals and mission-centered work.
  • Support collective impact efforts across the organization through technical assistance, presentations, and community engagement initiatives.

Within the first 3 months as a Manager, Collective Impact you will engage in a deep dive review of the Inclusive Design Standards (IDS) and receive training from the co-authors. You will support key collective impact programming initiatives and partner with members of The Kelsey’s housing and collective impact team to launch original research on embracing inclusive design in gentle density housing types. You will also engage in intentional relationship-building with key stakeholders and partners.

Within the first 6 months, you will begin to develop expertise in the Inclusive Design Standards and apply it to at least one collective impact project. You will coordinate key partnerships and content development for The Kelsey’s original research as well as author at least two pieces of collateral for collective impact and apply the design standards to one area of policy change. You will also develop systems for tracking metrics and key performance indicators.
