Job Title: Facilitator

Reports to: Senior Director, Organizational Capacity

Supervises: N/A

Employment Status: Regular Full Time

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt


The facilitator will center on developing training modules and workshops and lead group conversations in order to help OPP staff to learn and cultivate essential skills, confidence and care to effectively serve OPP youth. The facilitator will assess existing staff knowledge and coordinate relevant, meaningful, evidence-based trainings and related materials to support the multimodal learning and development of OPP staff. The facilitator will drive participant learning and mastery of each practice and ensure alignment with program implementation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Aid in planning and designing training courses geared toward the creation of a Youth Development career pathway for OPP staff and community partners. 

• Create systems/processes to ensure that all new employees complete mandatory competency based training.  

• Conduct research to ensure that training content is consistently aligned with current trends, best practices, and relevant – recommend new learning materials/resources and equipment (i.e. A.I. technology, curriculum, learning tools, etc.)

• Conduct interviews with direct staff, supervisors/directors, and other stakeholders to effectively assess training/professional development needs.

• Assist individual employees and teams with establishing and achieving annual learning & development goals or objectives.

• Assist with the creation and oversight of various training metrics/goals and assess with measuring results/effectiveness.

• Assist in managing A.I. technology to deliver regular survey’s and feedback loops to understand the “pulse” of the organization and generate real-time reports on staff sentiment/responses and needs. 

• Identify, collaborate and cultivate mutually beneficial working relationships with community stakeholders to coordinate trainings. 

• Encourage staff/trainees to participate in reflective discussions to align understanding and effectively applying practices/strategies.

• Work cooperatively with service areas and key stakeholders (internal and external) to efficiently and effectively facilitate and coordinate training on various youth and workforce development/empowerment topics (in-person and virtual).

• Create and manage a universal training calendar and ensure that training initiatives are executed timely and consistently

• Research, design and develop training manuals and course materials, which may include; curriculum, handouts, and other visual materials.

• Identify and/or develop online learning content and manage OPP’s Learning Management System.

• Participates in agency-wide training on fund development and role as an OPP ambassador.

• Handle any appropriate responsibilities and functions as assigned by supervisor and/or director

• Attendance Required


• Bachelor’s degree in (education, human resource management or organizational psychology)

• At least 3 years of proven work experience as a training facilitator, training coordinator, or any other similar role.

• Experience presenting to diverse groups of individuals and desire to work with adult learners.

• Adequate experience with Learning Management Software (LMS).

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills which enable a training facilitator to effectively educate employees and communicate with the upper management.

• Ability to create an inclusive and equitable learning experience both in person and virtual

• Ability to listen non-judgmentally; ask probing questions.

• Ability to offer thoughtful, detailed feedback, and encourage meaningful reflection.

• Ability to exhibit strong interpersonal skills that inspire and ignite passion in people

• Proficiency and familiarity with Talent Management and career paths

• Sound knowledge of traditional and modern educational techniques.
