Local Progress and the Impact Lab are seeking a highly skilled Campaigns Manager with experience in local policy change and a track record of organizing and coalition building, to engage and support local elected officials’ leadership on anti-displacement strategies.
Displacement pressures have made housing, cultural, and economic survival all the more precarious in our communities. Too often, our government systems have failed to prioritize community stability, employing inadequate and harmful strategies that perpetuate displacement and inequity. Local Progress members aim to create stability for their communities – especially those that have been marginalized, harmed by policymaking, or excluded from the governing process. LP members are collaborating with residents and community partners to reshape local services, secure budget investments, champion legislative change, and leverage their position to advocate for community stability at all levels of government. The Campaigns Manager will work across the LP network of local elected officials to build out resources and campaigns to advance policy and systems-change that reinforce community stability and prevent displacement.
Working as part of a national policy and program team, the Campaigns Manager will primarily focus on expanding Local Progress’ work on housing justice to intersect with community development, economic justice, immigrant rights, sustainability, and other issues that relate to displacement. The Campaigns Manager will work closely with the Local Progress organizing and communications teams to advance campaigns on anti-displacement strategies, develop tools and resources in collaboration with external partners, and facilitate engagement on policy issues within Local Progress’ identity caucuses.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience in local policy change, is interested in engaging local electeds in governance and policy challenges, and is eager to lead multi-faceted, multi-geography anti-displacement campaigns.

This position is included in a union-represented collective bargaining unit, and specific terms and conditions of employment are subject to the Collective Bargaining Agreement. With a collectively bargained salary scale, we are not able to negotiate once a salary offer is calculated based on the factors that determine placement on the scale.
We operate on a four day workweek with a default schedule of Monday through Thursday. We have a generous benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, five weeks of vacation per year, 20 sick days per year, paid holidays, and contributions to individuals’ 403(b) plans. The Local Progress office is closed between December 24 and January 1 annually.
