    Studio Institute, LLC (Studio) seeks an experienced, enthusiastic, empathetic, and collaborative arts program administrator to execute The Bloomberg Arts Intern college program.

    The ideal candidate for this job should possess a strong educational background, preferably with an advanced degree, along with prior experience in program management or coordination, particularly within an educational context. Moreover, the ideal candidate should have acquired experience in both the visual and performing arts sectors, possessing a comprehensive understanding of the arts industry. They must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment is crucial, as is the willingness to travel as part of the job's core functions. Additionally, they should demonstrate the ability to develop and implement strategic plans, manage relationships with funders and donors, oversee program implementation, ensure quality assurance and compliance, and exercise effective supervision and leadership.

    The Program Manager Arts Intern, College will report to the Executive Vice President. This position is an exempt, full-time position, and supervises one Associate Manager, a team of part-time staff during the program implementation period, and interns.

    Based upon its 40 years of successful impact in visual arts education, Studio in a School formed Studio Institute (Studio) in 2016 with the goal to expand our scope, providing programs and creating new partnerships with communities and cultural organizations nationwide. Studio is currently working with partners in Boston, Baltimore, Chicago, Cleveland, Memphis, Newark, New York, Philadelphia, and Providence.

    The Bloomberg Arts Intern college program provides exciting and challenging paid summer internships to college students within arts and cultural organizations. The program launched in the summer of 2024 in four cities: New York, Boston, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. Based on this early success, the program will expand to include Washington, DC for the summer of 2025.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    Program Planning and Development:

    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
    • Develop and implement strategic plans for program growth and sustainability.
    • Establish measurable goals and metrics aligned with organizational priorities.
    • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise short term staff in all participating cities.
    • Recruit, select, onboard, and supervise college interns across all participating cities.
    • Cultivate, maintain, and strengthen professional working relationships with new partner host sites.
    • Maintain and strengthen existing relationships with partner host sites.
    • Lead internal team meetings and contribute to all staff and board meetings.

    Funder Relations and Financial Management:

    • Prepare grant proposals, reports, and budgets in collaboration with the development team.
    • Monitor program budgets and expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility and compliance.
    • Provide regular updates to funders on program goals, progress, and impact.

    Program Implementation and Compliance:

    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
    • Oversee all aspects of program implementation and impact.
    • Review existing program policies and procedures for effectiveness.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
    • Monitor program activities and outcomes across all participating cities to ensure alignment with objectives.
    • Perform data analysis to identify areas for program improvement.

    Intern Support and Host Site Collaboration:

    • Assume case management for 50+ college interns across multiple states providing direct group and one on one support, guidance, and coordination.
    • Collaborate with the team to develop and coordinate the implementation of a high quality curriculum for college interns and meaningful engagements for alumni.
    • Conduct site visits to gain firsthand knowledge of intern experiences and site operations.
    • Collaborate with the program coordinators to implement changes based on site visit findings.
    • Facilitate communication with interns, host sites, and program coordinators to ensure high quality and meaningful internship experiences.
    • Address issues or concerns raised by interns or host sites, promptly and effectively.
    • Storytelling and Public Relations:
    • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to implement a communications strategy that promotes program achievements and impact.
    • Create channels for documenting compelling stories and case studies to highlight participant successes.

    Education and Professional Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to human services and a Master’s degree in a relevant field is required (school counseling, program administration,
    • 4-6+ years of experience in program management or coordination within an educational or arts- based setting.
    • Experience working with cultural organizations in the visual and performing arts.
    • Extensive experience working with young adults with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and interests.
    • Proven ability to effectively supervise and lead a team.
    • Demonstrated ability to accurately manage a program budget.
    • Excellent understanding of funder relationships and grant deliverables.
    • Highly skilled in decision-making and managing multiple projects within expected timelines.
    • Effective and articulate communicator.
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively across various groups.
    • Capable of performing data collection and analysis to inform program improvement.
    • Proficient in MS365 applications and Google Workspace.

    Other requirements

    • Be fully available to support programs and events outside of regular work hours, such as Saturdays and evenings
    • Be fully available to travel. Travel is required as part of the core functions of the position.
    • Be fully available to work May through August during peak program operations.

    Location

    We are currently working on a hybrid schedule. The program manager will be asked to work four (4) days per week in our office at 410 W 59th St, New York, NY, and one (1) day per week remote though this schedule may shift and evolve.

    Vaccination and Masking Policies

    Studio Institute recommends that all new hires be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 prior to the start date. It is optional for employees to wear a well-fitting mask in our office when the NYC COVID-19 Community Risk Level is “moderate” or “low” based on the CDC website. However, mask-wearing in our office is still required when the NYC COVID-19 Community Risk Level is “high” based on the CDC website.

    Salary

    $78,000 – $85,000 annually, dependent on experience and qualifications. This is a grant funded position, currently secured for a two year period.
