As our new Program Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Program Director to develop and execute recruitment and program strategy and ensure our overseas partners have the support and guidance they need to help us facilitate successful internship and training programs. You will oversee the visa sponsorship application process and supervise a small but agile team of Program Coordinators. You will also collaborate with colleagues on the team and across the organization to ensure our participants are happy and safe and that our program doesn’t just adhere to regulations but also provides life-changing cultural exchange experiences.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with Program Director on program and recruitment strategy and identify opportunities to streamline and grow the program and enhance our services
  • Supervise 2-3 program coordinators and ensure smooth, efficient, and accurate processing of program applications while offering the highest level of customer service and support 
  • Recruit new overseas partners, hosts, and participants through relationship building, social media marketing, and strategic and targeted outreach
  • Assist the Program Director with compliance oversight, both internally and through databases managed by the U.S. government
  • Advise and assist applicants, hosts, and overseas partners throughout the visa sponsorship application process while highlighting best practices to ensure success and satisfaction
  • Review applications and screen and interview participants and hosts to assess their eligibility for the Career Training USA program, per Department of State regulations
  • Create and publish Career Training USA content and marketing materials and identify sources for user-generated content
  • Represent Career Training USA at industry conferences, overseas universities, and online as a presenter, exhibitor, and subject matter expert

  • A flexible and diplomatic team player who is ready to learn all aspects of administering this unique exchange program 
  • An engaging, eager, and persuasive communicator who feels comfortable with public speaking and can articulate the value of our programs to a wide variety of stakeholders 

Your Qualifications Include:

  • Demonstrated history of success in sales, recruitment, business development, or relationship-building
  • A strong motivation to proactively reach out to host organizations, prospective partners, and  participants
  • Demonstrated success in promoting a program, product, or service via marketing and communications channels
  • Up-to-date computer skills and technological ability with a willingness to learn our proprietary software and internal communications tools, as well as external U.S. government-operated software
  • U.S. citizenship or Legal Permanent Residence and the ability to pass pre-employment and annual criminal background checks, per program requirements

Where you'll be: New York City-based. We offer a hybrid arrangement of 2 to 3 office days and 2 to 3 remote days, if desired. This position also includes travel days. 

Schedule & Hours:  35-hour work week. Business Hours M-F 9:30 am - 5:30 pm EST; one hour for lunch. Flexible start and end time option. Additional hours as needed.

Start Date: Target start date 08/15/2022

Compensation: $65,000 salaried, exempt

Travel: Domestic & International 5%-10%

By participating in our programs both in the U.S. and abroad, tens of thousands of young people and their hosts have gained insight into other cultures. InterExchange is designated by the U.S. Department of State to sponsor several J-1 Visa exchange programs including Au Pair USA, Work & Travel USA, Camp USA and Career Training USA. Program participants are placed in the U.S. and abroad by InterExchange in collaboration with international cooperating agencies and government agencies. Additionally, we offer Work Abroad opportunities for Americans seeking similar experiences overseas.
