Development Officer

The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia (CFGP) provides charitable giving opportunities and fundraising consulting services to donors and nonprofits in the Greater Philadelphia area. CFGP provides donors with an avenue to fulfill their charitable goals and offers nonprofit organizations tools, structure and support to further advance their mission.

Description

The Development Officer will assist in raising funds for a Capital Campaign project for the Little Sisters of the Poor (LSP) Holy Family Home. This position will actively cultivate and solicit individuals in-person and by phone, as well as assist in executing all other fundraising strategies for the project. The Development Officer will report to CFGP’s Associate Director, Partner Development. They will work closely with CFGP’s Chief Advancement Officer, Holy Family Home staff and the Campaign Planning Committee.

Responsibilities

1. Develop project-related elements, such as drafts of correspondence, presentations, and project results
2. Manage a prospect pool, new and existing donors, of approximately 100-150 individuals to cultivate and solicit gifts of $10,000 - $50,000
3. Steward donors and help to identify additional major donor prospects
4. Develop strategic points of engagement and effective solicitation strategies for all donor prospects
5. Maintain complete and accurate records of contacts and on-going communications with current and potential donors in Raiser’s Edge
6. Regularly review information in donor database to evaluate and maximize fundraising efforts
7. Work with Campaign Team and Data Team on donor thank you process and pledge redemption
8. Review and remain current in issues and trends in elder care, the Catholic Church, CFGP, LSP, and philanthropy
9. Assist with various related administrative responsibilities, such as performing research, tracking and analyzing information and data, preparing progress reports, creating and maintaining project schedules, and filing project documents

Required Education and Experience

Minimum Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years experience with a preference on demonstrated success in a fund development or sales / marketing role.

• Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs – experience with a constituent management software is preferred
• Must have spreadsheet, presentation and word-processing skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on donor relations
• Excellent presentation, oral and written communication
• Must be comfortable sharing an articulated belief in the mission of the Catholic Church, CFGP and the LSP
• Access to a car and valid driver’s license
