JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an Associate Director, Membership & Data Management who embodies the values, principles, and priorities that guide our initiatives as we continue to make a lasting impact on the future.

The position of Associate Director, Membership & Data Management is involved with members, volunteers, and staff to support the execution of SWE’s strategic and operational plans. They lead a team that is responsible for the oversight of annual membership acquisition, renewal and retention strategies, database administration, local section and affiliate support, volunteer management, email communications, and event registration. This individual should bring 5+ years  of demonstrated experience as a leader within the association industry and a strong sense of collaboration.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Membership and Data Management (65%)

  • Lead, develop and direct comprehensive member recruitment, engagement, and  retention programs to meet the SWE’s goals. 
  • Analyze data and trends to provide recommendations to decision-makers. 
  • Provide support as directed by SWE’s strategic plan, including initiating/completing projects and tracking KPIs.
  • Prepare reports for senior management and the board of directors, as needed.
  • Oversee membership processes including: 
  • application and renewal systems 
  • maintaining the prospect database
  • implementing campaigns to encourage membership
  • oversee the processing new member applications  
  • developing and managing new member onboarding/welcoming processes
  • Ensure accuracy and availability of member resources and membership recruitment  materials. 
  • Remain current on benefits and programs available to all segments of membership,  updating and enhancing as needed. 
  • Respond to inquiries concerning membership questions/concerns in a professional and  informative manner. 
  • Work with the communications/marketing team to develop recruitment and retention  messaging, timelines and delivery methods. 
  • Work with member communications to ensure relevant content for the association’s e newsletter and various member related promotional materials.
  • Oversight of database administrator; ensure business critical data processes occur as they are intended. 
  • Direct the maintenance and integrity of membership records and appropriate  demographic data within the association management system (AMS). Maintain and enforce SWE’s  data management policies.


Volunteer Management (15%)

  • Support various membership-related committees as well as special interest groups by  supporting them to achieve the charge/goals set out by the association. 
  • Serve as the staff liaison for assigned committees/task forces as appropriate


Events (20%)

  • Lead and project manage set-up and maintenance of the Annual Conference registration system. 
  • Perform duties as assigned to support the execution of the event. 
  • Oversee processing of registrations including follow-up on unpaid registrations.
  • Oversee coordination of the onsite volunteer program.
