The American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT), a 501(C)6 and its sister organization, the Medical Toxicology Foundation (MTF), a 501(C)3 are seeking a qualified professional for its Development Coordinator position. Them successful candidate will coordinate and manage the fundraising operations for both the ACMT and MTF; support other non-dues resource development; and develop and foster relationships with key external organizations, members, donors and potential donors, and corporate partners and potential partners to maximize fundraising opportunities.
This position requires a motivated fundraiser with strong organizational skills and an ability to effectively share the value of ACMT and MTF with potential sponsors and donors. The successful applicant will have a broad range of development experience preferably in the non-profit association realm. This position is remote with all staff working from home and conducting business virtually.
Key Position Responsibilities:
● Identify prospective corporate sponsors, develop relationships, solicit sponsorship and
exhibitors to support ACMT educational programs – both live conferences and online education activities - and steward educational grant and corporate sponsorship opportunities to support ACMT events and activities
● Research, write, submit grant applications to corporations and foundations to support ACMT
education programs and MTF award programs.
● Develop and maintain relationships with corporate supporters, be the primary point person
to communicate about support opportunities at ACMT
● Assist with the MTF fund raising program that will provide a diverse and sustainable funding base for the MTF encompassing annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, corporate sponsorships, and business contracts with clearly defined goals, time frames, and metrics for each revenue stream.
● Assist with the development of fundraising communications including event prospectus
development; appeal letters, annual impact report, and other communications as needed.
Key Candidate Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree, CFRE is a plus.
● Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively successful development experience, preferably in
a public health or medical environment. Association development experience is a plus.
● Successful corporate and foundation grant writing experience
● Ability to work with staff, peers and volunteer leadership to achieve organizational priorities.
● Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and ability to act decisively; blend of strategic thinking and tactical execution. Resourceful, with ability to change course, when necessary.
● Superior organizational abilities and attention to detail, with a high level of self-accountability.
● Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking, with the ability to engage diverse constituencies.
● Ability to set own schedule, maintain calendar, and to do own administrative work.
Salary range: $50,000-60,000 commensurate with experience
About Us: The American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT) is the national professional association for medical toxicologists, representing approximately 800 physicians across the United States and internationally. The College has a staff of 18, all of whom work remotely. Medical Toxicologists provide expertise on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of toxicologic disorders. Areas of expertise include: drug and medication overdose, identifying and treating emerging drugs of abuse, addiction management and the opioid epidemic, bites or stings of a venomous animal, forensic toxicology, and medication safety. The College’s mission is to advance the toxicologic care of patients and populations; and advocate for the specialty of medical toxicology.
