    Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW) is a workforce development organization dedicated to preparing, training, and placing women in skilled construction, utility, and maintenance trades industries in the New York City metropolitan area. Through comprehensive training, education, and job placement initiatives, NEW has successfully transformed the lives of countless women while advocating for policy changes that support gender diversity in the workplace.

    Position Overview

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable professional to join our team as a Part-Time Youth Training Manager. This role involves coordinating, developing and assist in delivering in-person and virtual programs and training initiatives, to introduce young women to careers in the building and construction trades and to support the growth and empowerment of young people. In-person programs will take place at NEW’s headquarters in Chelsea; its satellite site in Industry City, Brooklyn; or off-site at partner organizations’ spaces.

    This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the personal and professional growth of young people by leveraging your skills in program management and training coordination. The ideal candidate will be passionate about empowering youth and adept at navigating both traditional and virtual work settings.

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Coordination:

    • Develop and implement engaging youth programs for a diverse group of youth, including those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, focused on skill-building, leadership, and personal development
    • Coordinate logistics for both in-person and virtual training sessions
    • Collaborate with community organizations to enhance program offerings and participation
    • Maintain accurate records of program activities and participants’ progress

    Training Development:

    • Design and deliver interactive training sessions tailored to the needs of diverse youth audiences
    • Provide support, mentorship, and guidance to ensure the inclusion and success of all participants, with particular attention to those who may face additional social, educational, or economic challenges
    • Utilize various educational tools and technologies to facilitate learning in virtual and in-person environments
    • Conduct assessments to identify training needs and measure program effectiveness
    • Provide ongoing support and mentorship to youth participants

    Administrative Duties:

    • Work with program budgets efficiently, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately
    • Prepare reports on program outcomes for stakeholders and grant reporting purposes

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Minimum bachelor’s degree in education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
    • Minimum 5+ years of experience working with youth in a training or educational capacity
    • Strong understanding of youth development principles and best practices
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Proficiency in digital tools for remote collaboration and virtual training delivery
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
