Director of Alliance Learning & Insights

Position Overview

The Director of Alliance Learning and Insights is responsible for codifying and sharing the insights and experiences of our Alliance community to drive greater impact. Our Alliance community brings together senior leaders from the nation’s leading youth-supporting organizations. We organize collaboration in our community through the execution of robust programming, spanning leadership development, knowledge sharing, capacity building, and systemic change work. In each of these spaces, leaders share experiences and insights that can powerfully inform the decision-making of our member organizations and can help shape larger dynamics in the field.

This position is critical to ensuring our community benefits from the collective wisdom that exists across hundreds of organizations and leaders. And it is critical to our efforts to ensure field leaders are learning from those most proximate to the work. Reporting to the Vice President of Community Impact, this position is an exciting opportunity to support APA’s strategy to shepherd the collective action of our Alliance community by witnessing elements of APA’s programming and translating those experiences into actionable insights and assets that drive lasting impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead Knowledge Capture and Codification Strategy, including Asset Management  
• Support Infrastructure, System Design and Dissemination Strategies
• Continuous Improvement

Competencies & Experience

·     Strong writing skills, storytelling and content design experience, particularly in communicating complex topics and concepts in a clear and concise manner

·     At least five years of experience in youth-supporting organizations, with experience in at least one of our four issue areas

·     Previous work synthesizing learning from programming to drive action

·     Attention to details (e.g. for copyediting, layout/design, and indexing/asset management)

·     Accountability to outcomes

·     Ability to adapt and persist through challenges

·     Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial / startup environment

·     Ability to work collaboratively

·     Proactivity/Ability to take initiative

·     Openness & Responsiveness to feedback and coaching
