We are seeking a Project Manager to work a hybrid schedule in our Washington DC office on a full-time 37.5-hour per week basis reporting into the office 1-2 days per week.
Summary
The Project Manager provides day-to-day coordination and support for the Office of Strategic Initiatives and Research and budgetary support and coordination of a project which is funded by the federal, state, or local government, by a foundation or by a private donor agency. As a project manager, the incumbent provides assistance and support in problem solving, project planning and management, and development and execution of the office’s stated goals and objectives. In this capacity, the incumbent completes a variety of financial, purchasing, and budgetary transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, goals, and objectives; provides technical support and assistance for university website and intranet maintenance; coordination and management of planning for the office’s participation in university Sessions and other events; and also provides administrative support to the Distinguished Senior Advisor to the President/Principal Investigator and supports the activities of the Marie Fielder Center for Democracy, Leadership, and Education. The Project Manager needs to understand administrative University policies and procedures and work in close partnership with other units of the University that may include admissions, conference and event planning, registrar, Human Resources, Marketing, and Finance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. A minimum of three years of relevant administrative management experience is required. Experience as a project manager, project coordinator, or office manager preferred. Experience working in higher education or at a nonprofit is preferred. Experience with budgetary management preferred.
