Clinical Supervisor (LICSW or LPC)

Position Description: The Clinical Supervisor will provide clinical oversight for the residential addictions treatment program and supervision to Substance Abuse Counselors. The Clinical Supervisor  will also provide counseling and therapy to clients.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm (Full-Time, 40 hours per week)


Required: Master's Degree; 1-2 years counseling experience; experience providing services to low-income families.

Preferred: Master's Degree; 3-5 years counseling experience; 2 + years experience providing services to low-income families; Supervisory experience

Required License/Certification: LICSW or LPC from District of Columbia Department of Health, CPR/First-Aid, CPR for Infants. Must maintain credentials during tenure.

Expected Contributions: 

  • Clinical Treatment Services: Provide clinical guidance and support for staff in the Assessment and Referral and Kirwan/IOP programs. Provide and facilitate individual and group counseling/assessment and therapy for clients. Facilitate interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and review approve client treatment plans. Review, audit and sign off/release documentation in clients' charts for accuracy, compliance with regulations and clinical best practices. Ensure clinical practices and documentation are compliant with state, industry and contract requirements. Work as a liaison between SUD Services and Referring providers to provide necessary treatment services for client intake and referral. Provide individual and clinical supervision to Assessment and referral staff and interns and monitor and track individual. Assist with Program Director with program oversight Kirwan/IOP services as needed.
  • Supervisory: Ensure appropriate department staffing levels in order to meet objectives; Assess, evaluate, and hire new employees as needed. Submit administrative paperwork to Human resources, Finance, Compliance and CQI; Refer to SOME Employee Handbook or policies for guidance. Ensure compliance with all state, local and general laws governing the workplace and all department functions. Schedule staff work hours, as needed, and monitor for time and attendance. Approve time cards and requests for leave. Provide direction and guidance to staff member on department operations and procedures
