Descripción

We are seeking a full-time federal financial and operations expert to support the management of federal funding for Anthropocene Alliance. The candidate will have 5-10 years experience in accounting, a bachelor’s degree (accounting/finance focus preferred), and wide-ranging experience working with nonprofit organizations, specifically with federal grant compliance.

The person will be well-organized, versatile and a quick study. This is a fully remote position. Because the position requires significant video conferencing, the candidate must have access to a private or quiet room.

This full-time position offers a schedule of 32 hours per week (4 days, Monday through Thursday) with an annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, depending on experience.

Anthropocene Alliance (A2) is the nation’s largest coalition of frontline communities fighting for climate and environmental justice. The alliance consists of over 300 community-based organizations in 41 U.S. states and territories. 82% of our grassroots leaders represent mostly low income, Black, Latinx, or Native American communities, and almost 70% of our leaders are women. They are impacted by flooding, toxic waste, wildfires, drought and heat — all compounded by bad development and the climate crisis.

A2’s mission is to empower communities, making them more resilient while mitigating climate change. We help impacted communities access scientific, technical, communications, finance, operations, and grant writing assistance. Our Frontline 360° service is a collaborative project with the Environmental Protection Network, Thriving Earth Exchange, Community and College Partners Program, Center for Applied Environmental Science, and others. The range of expertise and knowledge required is likely to be wide-ranging:

  • Financial planning and budgeting.

  • Developing budgets for federal grant applications, and reporting on budgets.

  • The development of required policy and statement documents supporting financial capabilities for federal funding sources.
  • Payroll and the development of HR processes and policies, employment contracts, and compliance with federal funding requirements.
  • Flexible, and able to work odd hours in response to members’ needs
  • Experience with funding application, project management and administration systems (e.g., Grants.gov, Tsheets, Smartsheet etc.)

Required Qualifications

  • Five to ten years experience in accounting
