    Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City’s leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. The Isaacs Center focuses primarily on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational.

    Purpose of Position: The Isaacs Center is looking for a highly motivated individual to support career services programming. In collaboration with the Engagement and Success team, this role supports participant professional development and employment efforts, and builds a strategy for engaging NYCHA residents within the Isaacs/Holmes development and surrounding communities.

    Schedule: Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week

    Salary Range: $40,000-$45,000

    Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

    Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties

    Workshop & Event Facilitation & Lesson Planning

    • Develops and facilitates professional development workshops which prepare our participants for employment opportunities including internships and apprenticeships in the healthcare industry that match the participants’ skills, work experience, training, and interests.
    • Support the coordination of and off-site activities, visits, and workshops for participants including scheduling, securing space, transportation, food, etc in coordination with Career Services Coordinator
    • Work alongside Engagement & Success team to plan and execute college and career fairs, panels, etc
    • Host monthly resume development workshops for current and prospective clients

    Client Engagement and Support

    • Develop engagement strategies to connect with young people between 16 – 24+ who reside in the Isaacs Houses / Holmes Towers NYCHA (New York City Housing Authority) development
    • Track data and participant progress via Salesforce
    • In collaboration with the Career Services team and Alumni Coordinator, evaluates and matches participants with employment placements. Monitors and supports the on- going engagement of participants at their placements.
    • Supports all departmental recruitment, engagement, and retention efforts.
    • Identifies career advancement opportunities and pathways within the primary growing labor market sectors (Child Care/Youth Development, Health Care,etc) – and supports the placement and on-going growth of participants within those pathways.
    • Conducts site visits to check in with interns and their supervisors
    • Reviews, audits, and submits program payroll for Healthcare and SYEP
    • Remains current on local hiring and labor trends, including job fair participation, staff development opportunities, and training.
    • Understands funder goals and uses data to document consistently and accurately, in real time, all participants, employer contacts, activities, and outcomes into Isaacs Centers data base (Salesforce)
    • Collaborates with Advance and Earn program leadership to support credential attainment, and continuing education for GED, SYEP and Healthcare training participants
    • Assist with collecting and inputting all necessary data and provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
    • Attend staff meetings, team meetings, and content meetings, as required
    • Other duties as requested

    Qualifications/Educational Requirements

    Education

    • Associates degree, Bachelors preferred

    Experience

    • Must have 1-2 years professional experience in an office setting, high degree of attention to detail, superior organizational skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff and clients

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in community organizing and working with young adults (16-24) and older

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • A Working knowledge: Basic understanding of youth development & older adults, the
    • General knowledge: sufficient knowledge of social media management
    • Thorough knowledge: A thorough understanding of NYCHA Tenant Associations, East Harlem and beyond.

    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

    • Ability to work outdoors, weather permitting
    • Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
    • May require light physical effort/lifting, up to 20 pounds of promotional materials/equipment
    • May be required to work weekends/nights at special events
    • Some travel required within the five boroughs for meetings and site visits
