Position
NCYL seeks a Director to lead the organization’s Human Resources functions. The position will report to the Deputy Director of Operations and Finance. The HR Director will be based at NCYL’s office in Oakland, California, and will support employees and volunteers across all project sites. They will be a member of NCYL’s fun loving and energetic Operations Team, which is responsible for human resources, information technology, legal compliance, facilities, and administrative functions. This is a great position for someone seeking to be a critical member of a growing, national civil rights organization.

Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. This position requires the ability to work remotely and requires some travel, especially to NCYL’s offices in Washington, DC, Arizona, and other parts of California.
Salary, Benefits, and Location
This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary is competitive at $142,710.00 annually. A geographic salary differential may be applied if the candidate resides somewhere other than the Oakland, CA, Los Angeles, CA, or Washington, DC areas.

Candidates must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the San Francisco Bay Area or the Washington, DC metro area.
This position is eligible for 100% remote work through March 31, 2023. It is possible that in April 2023, NCYL will require people to work in an office, in which case they will need to be in a location where they can commute to the office regularly. We are actively engaging in this conversation as an organization. We understand that the nature of the workplace has changed in general. We don't yet know what remote work will look like in 2023.
