Organization Overview

Girls on the Run is a nonprofit that offers dynamic, evidence-based after-school programs across five Bay Area counties. We empower 3rd-8th grade girls to build their confidence, kindness, and decision-making skills. We serve girls* in a region encompassing five Bay Area counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo).

Position Summary

The Program Manager will oversee the execution and management of our after-school programs across multiple counties. Reporting to the Program Director, this position involves a mix of operational management, logistical coordination, and engagement with volunteers and community partners. This role is ideal for those who are detail-oriented and adaptable, and who excel at proactive planning and strategic execution. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Girls on the Run of the Bay Area achieves our program quality and impact goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Outreach and Community Engagement:

· Build and sustain relationships with site liaisons, coaches, participant families, and community partners.

· Conduct site visits across our service area, providing support and constructive feedback, and driving continuous improvement in program delivery.

· Follow/enforce current policies and processes, and generate innovation and improvement as needed

Volunteer Management and Training:

  • Coordinate the onboarding and continuous engagement of volunteers, ensuring they receive efficient and friendly communication
  • Facilitate and plan seasonal coach trainings; manage event logistics; implement continuous improvement in the coach training process
  • Manage coach communications, including newsletters, and lead appreciation and retention efforts.

Supply Management and Administrative:

  • Purchase and manage the distribution of all program materials to coaches and sites, using your excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Lead inventory management, maintaining all aspects of program supply operations
  • Manage inventory and maintain accurate volunteer records in our databases.


Requirements

  • Residence in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, or San Mateo counties is required due to the need for occasional on-site presence
  • Ability to provide own workspace OR work at our office in San Francisco
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to move and lift items weighing as much as 30 pounds
  • Must pass a Livescan fingerprint background check and provide a clear TB test


Job Type: Full-time

Benefits:

  • Annual salary: $70,000
