As SPARK Kindness continues to grow and serve the community, we are seeking to hire a part-time (20-30 hours per week) Programming Coordinator to organize and oversee our free programming series that focuses on promoting kindness, resilience, and inclusion for all. This position will report to and work closely with the Executive Director and staff on all aspects of SPARK programming. The Programming Coordinator is responsible for overseeing SPARK’s signature and long-running “Resilient Community” speaker series, including program research, design, support, implementation, and follow-up. The Programming Coordinator will be an important member in a supportive team environment with opportunities for professional development and growth.

Compensation $27/hr

This position: 

  • Reports to the SPARK Executive Director. 
  • Maintains a flexible schedule. 
  • Works remotely with regular travel to community locations in Natick/ MetroWest, MA for meetings and programs. 
  • Requires regular evening and weekend hours for programs and team meeting commitments. 
  • Has federal holidays and major school vacation weeks off (winter, February, and April), but may be asked to work some holidays for specific community events (MLK Day, Juneteenth, etc). In addition, 2 weeks of summer vacation is strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities include: 


  • Researching potential speakers (including national experts) for SPARK’s educational program series. 
  • Coordinating programming operations (for online and in person programs and events, including event set up, logistics, communication, etc.) to ensure a positive experience for attendees, presenters, SPARK partners, and team members.
  • Supporting and liaising with programming speakers and programming partners.
  • Attending SPARK programs and serving as Site Leader who coordinates (both onsite and online) operations. 
  • Leading SPARK’s efforts in creating accessible and inclusive events that welcome everyone through interpretation services, accessible technology, accommodation requests, and more.
  • Organizing and co-leading SPARK’s Programming Committee.


  • Support Marketing and Communication Efforts
  • Provide support on newsletters that are primarily education program related.
  • Provide support with marketing and communication primarily related to educational programming.
  • Support Belonging Programming
  • Attend/support SPARK’s “connect and serve” events throughout the year.
  • Support Fundraising/Community Outreach Efforts 
  • Attend/support Fundraising/Community outreach efforts throughout the year.
  • Assist with outreach during the annual campaign, in particular. 
  • Assist with cultivating new members and donors (year-round).

  • Group facilitation skills and enthusiasm to develop presentation/public speaking abilities. 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a dynamic work environment.

Physical demands: 

This position involves physical work of setting up in person programs and events. This includes:

  • Being able to sit and stand for long periods of time at programs and events;
  • Being able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, including in the process of setting up tents, tables, and exhibits; 
  • Being able to walk, climb stairs, and carry materials, including in the process of setting up for programs or events.

Level of Language Proficiency
