Founded in 1842, the New York Philharmonic is the oldest symphony orchestra in the United States, and one of the oldest in the world. Each season the Philharmonic connects with up to 50 million music lovers through live concerts in New York City and on its worldwide tours and residencies. David Geffen Hall, the home of the Philharmonic, is currently under renovation and the orchestra is performing in several different venues this season. The new hall will re-open to the public in the fall of 2022 with state-of-the art acoustics and more inviting spaces. 

The New York Philharmonic seeks a Manager, Donor Data to function as the Tessitura database expert and data analyst for the Development Team.


Responsibilities include:

     Data Analysis and Reporting

·       Work with Development staff to determine Key Performance Indicators and create tools to evaluate these KPIs.

·       Build dashboards in Tessitura Analytics to interpret data to drive strategy.

·       Automate daily tasks to relieve staff and enable them to work more strategically.

·       Coordinate with the Membership teams to analyze campaign effectiveness, evaluate segment testing, and assess membership trends.

·       Execute lists and extractions for Development staff, including for event invitations.

·       Provide support to the Development Operations team, including processing gifts when needed.


       Database Management and Data Hygiene

·       Develop training materials for Tessitura best practices, onboard new hires, field staff questions, and continuously train staff on additional functionality.

·       Be an active member in the Tessitura community and educate yourself and the Development Staff on the latest trends and features.

·       Assist with data hygiene projects to maintain database integrity.

·       Work with colleagues across the organization to develop systematic data management and to ensure fluidity of data sharing and mining.


       Project Management

·       Serve as the liaison between IT and Development to effectively communicate Development needs.

·       Oversee simultaneous Tessitura projects and project-manage timelines, including regular system upgrades.

·       Act as the Development point person for Subscription Renewals.


·       Miscellaneous duties as assigned.


Requirements:

A minimum of three years of data management and analysis experience. Strong database experience, familiarity with Tessitura is highly valued. Must be a strategic and proactive thinker with strong oral and written communication and project management skills. Proficiency with MS Excel and Office Suite.
