We believe that racial justice, food access, and health equity are all connected, and that change requires systemic solutions and cross-sector collaboration. DC Greens works in solidarity with those who are most impacted to build a just food system in the nation’s capital and break down the systemic barriers that harm our community. We are currently seeking to hire two Community Engagement Ambassadors.
These temporary, part-time positions will be part of our Community Leadership Initiative. Community Leadership Initiative is DC Greens’ leadership development program. Through CLI, community members with lived expertise are hired for positions at a variety of levels within the organization to contribute to the work and provide meaningful input in key areas, such as program development, strategic planning, partnerships, and community outreach. CLI staff also gain invaluable experience in nonprofit work and community advocacy. Responsibilities of this position include educational outreach on DC Greens programs, engaging directly with community members, collecting various types of feedback during events and promoting organization-wide engagement initiatives. Ambassadors may be expected to represent DC Greens during meetings with partners, donors, and other stakeholders associated with the organization. Ambassadors will receive training to bolster administrative skill sets, conflict resolution training, media and communication coaching, resumé building, a professional headshot, and more.

Salary & Benefits
This is a temporary, part-time (30 hours per week on average), hourly, non-exempt position. Hours may fluctuate based on work plan and seasonal activities. The hourly rate for this position is $23.50, starting in February and ending on June 30, 2025. This position is not eligible for benefits or overtime.
