    Location: Though our office is in Eugene, Oregon (Learn more about the City of Eugene), this position is open to being in person, remote or hybrid in Eugene or completely remote from the following states: Alaska, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

    Overview of Position

    We are looking to fill a key position on our team. The Marketing Content Coordinator will be part of a four-person, high performing marketing team. The Marketing Content Coordinator reports to the Marketing Manager and performs no direct supervision. Successful candidates will have a background in graphic design, website design, copy writing, proofreading, editing, offset and digital printers.

    Starting salary $41,500 to $46,500 per year (dependent on education and experience); 40 hours per week; flexible work hours; generous PTO

    Major Responsibilities

    • Edit application forms and letter templates for quality and consistency
    • As requested, edit OMRI’s public communications for quality and consistency
    • Develop OMRI’s visual branding, including executing consistent logos, graphics and design and maintaining logo files
    • Maintain and develop the OMRI seal and certification marks; maintain guidelines to support correct usage
    • Assist customers with OMRI seal inquiries and requests
    • With the design contractor, write, edit, design, produce, and create layouts for publications and promotional materials, including but not limited to: brochures, advertising, displays, newsletters, OMRI Products Lists, Quarterly Supplements, OMRI Policy Manual, OMRI Standards Manuals, OMRI Generic Materials List, and product listing web templates
    • Perform design projects as assigned, including but not limited to social media images, ads, and website images and designs
    • Participate in content brainstorming meetings and contribute ideas and solutions
    • Coordinate changes and maintenance for OMRI website content, assets, design and layout
    • Assess OMRI.org search engine optimization strategies on an ongoing basis
    • Identify areas for improvement
    • Develop and implement data-driven recommendations for SEO-savvy web copy and optimal web format to support website visitors
    • Provide support for OMRI presentations
    • Schedule and facilitate meetings of the OMRI speakers group to support ongoing development of presentation skills
    • Maintain graphics and templates for OMRI presentations
    • Develop new graphics as requested
    • Assist the Executive Director and others with development of OMRI presentations
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Marketing, communications, design, or a related major preferred.
    • 2 years of experience working in an office environment or other applicable industry required
    • 2 years of experience with copyediting and proofreading preferred
    • 2 years of experience with publication design preferred

    Skills

    Required

    • Demonstrated superior writing and editing skills
    • Proficiency with standard office software
    • Proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
    • Strong design sense
    • Experience working with a style guide (e.g., AP, CMS)
    • Ability to quickly learn and assimilate technical information and communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
    • Willingness to participate in professional development activities, and ability to acquire new skills and adapt to change quickly
    • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, organize information, complete tasks in a timely fashion, and appropriately handle confidential business information

    Preferred

    • Experience with coordinating with printing companies, attending press checks, reviewing proofs, etc.
    • Experience with email marketing services, such as Constant Contact
    • Experience with Adobe Illustrator
    • Familiarity with basic HTML and CSS markup, experience editing web pages
    • Familiarity with and support for the organic community
    • Bilingual (Spanish/English proficiency)

    Other Requirements

    • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends
    • Ability to occasionally travel domestically and internationally
