Position Summary
The American Chemical Society (ACS) seeks a motivated relationship-builder to help strengthen and expand the portfolio of corporations that contribute philanthropically to the mission of the ACS. A science background is not required, but the successful candidate will have a genuine interest in science and the ability to connect with those who are dedicating themselves to the betterment of society through chemistry. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
ACS serves chemists worldwide who are addressing some of the most challenging scientific issues of our time. Through an expansive suite of programming, ACS provides information, education, career services, professional development and engagement opportunities to chemical professionals. ACS also supports teaching and learning for students of all ages through grants and scholarships, and encourages investments in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, research and innovation.
Corporations are a key donor constituency for the ACS and the Corporate Giving Officer will contribute significantly to the fundraising success of ACS. The Corporate Giving Officer will join a small but mighty team of 7 within the Office of Philanthropy and will collaborate with others throughout the ACS. The Corporate Giving Officer will take a keen interest in the corporate chemistry enterprise and its needs, identifying potential synergies with ACS objectives, and advancing corporate partnerships that benefit the chemistry community.

Qualifications
Employees in the ACS Office of Philanthropy are currently working a hybrid schedule, consisting of onsite work at our Washington, D.C. office two days per week when not otherwise engaged in work-related travel. A reasonable rate of compensation for this position is between 69,000 - 94,000 per year.
ACS currently provides the following benefits for this position: paid vacation leave, paid sick leave, paid holidays, health insurance, flexible spending account or health care savings account, dental insurance, life insurance, vision insurance, retirement benefits, short- and long-term disability, and 4-week work from anywhere; each benefit is subject to the terms of the applicable program. Additional benefits may apply based on skills, experience, and location.
Any actual offer of employment, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be made in the sole discretion of ACS. ACS reserves the right to amend or modify its employment benefits and compensation structure at any time.
