National Disability Institute (NDI) is seeking a motivated individual with workforce employment strategies subject matter expertise to join NDI as Training and Technical Assistance (TA) Manager. This position will support NDI’s Disability Employment projects and initiatives serving as a subject matter expert on increasing access to and the participation of individuals with disabilities in the public workforce system.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Including, but not limited to:

·Provide technical assistance and training to support organizational learning on ways to build the capacity of the workforce system to serve people with disabilities.

· Provide technical assistance and training on braiding funds and leveraging resources to contribute to education, training, and/or employment goals and outcomes.

· Develop a responsive and individualized multi-modal training and technical assistance plan to include webinar trainings, learning opportunities and supportive material development.

·Develop customized self-paced web-based trainings that meet the needs of the systems or agencies for which they are designed.

·Travel to pre-approved sites and provide on-site training and technical assistance.

·Identify and share promising practices from the field that foster a more inclusive workforce.

·Engage in self-development activities to maintain and update professional knowledge and skills in areas of subject matter expertise and to expand awareness and knowledge level into new areas as directed by NDI.

· Coordinate and collaborate, as appropriate, with both internal and external projects/partners to augment available support and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field as well as demonstrate at least five years prior experience directly relevant to the proposed role and experience working with the public workforce development system, disability employment programs or partners, or have knowledge and/or experience with the AJC network.

· Direct experience, either at the state or local level, with the public workforce system. This can include Dislocated Worker, Adult Education, Wagner Peyser, Vocational Rehabilitation, Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities, or other related agencies.

·Detailed knowledge of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014.

·Experience developing and providing training, technical assistance, and/or presentations.

· Demonstrated expertise in disability and employment services and issues.

· System experience in aligning resources and expertise with the customer experience in mind.

· Attention to detail.

· Creativity and problem-solving skills.

· Effective oral and written communication skills.

· Comfortable with multi-tasking and working on multiple projects simultaneously.

· Self-motivated and self-disciplined.

· Able to work both independently and with a team.

· Capable and comfortable with presenting and public speaking, both virtually and in-person.

· Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.

· Able to travel when needed.

· Proficient with technology, including online learning platforms.

· Commitment to NDI's mission and values, including a dedication to advancing financial inclusion and economic empowerment for people with disabilities.

Experience Valuable to the Employment Team

NDI is seeking a candidate who has:

· Provided technical assistance and training to workforce professionals in vocational rehabilitation, American Job Centers, etc.

· Skilled with job development and/or business engagement experience.

· Experience with curriculum development and/or designing self-paced training materials.

· Direct experience implementing the Integrated Resource Team (IRT) or another similar strategy to coordinate services and leverage funding to meet the employment needs of individual jobseekers with disabilities.

· Knowledge of WIOA Section 188 and other nondiscrimination guidance.

· Participated in activities designed to improve DEIA in the workforce system.
