Mission:

  • Cultivate and foster an organizational culture where people of diverse faiths, traditions, and beliefs feel welcomed and safe to take action to improve their lives, achieving Health and Wellness, Economic Dignity, and Immigrant Justice while fully participating in our democracy.
  • Center and listen to Black, Indigenous, and Latina/a/x leaders, clergy, laypeople, and members of impacted communities on our local neighborhood/ House of Worship organizing teams.
  • Advocate and co-create state and federal policies through intentional campaigns that uplift our moral voices, bringing about systemic change for Arizonans, with a focus on racial equity
  • Educate, train and equip people with tools to improve and imagine themselves actively participating and leading justice and people-powered work.

Job Summary:

CORAZON seeks a full-time Leadership Development Manager to engage with diverse faith traditions, BIPOC Arizonans, and institutions. This role will oversee our fellowship work, which includes fellowship management, institutional relationship management, as well as leadership pipeline development.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Program Management:
  • Lead the Abundance & Dignity Fellowship program, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain program curricula and materials.
  • Coordinate logistics for fellowship events, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Conduct site visits with the fellows for purposes of training and strengthening relationships
  • Experience building trust across different identities and power dynamics in order to achieve a common goal. Ability to mediate/facilitate conflict that arises given the different identities. 
  • Recruitment and Selection:
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract diverse and qualified candidates.
  • Manage the application and selection process, including reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and selecting fellows.
  • Fellow Support and Development:
  • Ability to effectively manage a team of 7-10 people and alignment to management beliefs/philosophy. 
  • Provide ongoing support and mentorship to fellows, fostering their professional and personal growth.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to ensure fellows meet their goals.
  • Facilitate networking opportunities and connections with community leaders and organizations.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships:
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and other team members to align the fellowship program with organizational goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and alumni.
  • Can build trust with people of different identities- especially within the faith community, and with mixed status workers.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of fellowship activities.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on program outcomes, impact, and participatory action research design implementation and analysis.
  • Assist with grant writing and fundraising efforts related to the fellowship program.
  • Special Projects as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in program management, preferably within a nonprofit or educational setting.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and understanding of social justice issues.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with database management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient with communication technology: slack, zoom, CRM platform. 
  • Basic Requirements
  • Living in Maricopa County
  • Bilingual, fluent in English / Spanish is strongly preferred. 
  • Understands the challenges women are experiencing in Arizona
  • Regular access to vehicle and ability to visit sites on a regular basis

Working Conditions: 

This job operates both in a professional office environment and in outdoor and indoor public spaces, and the person will be exposed to outdoor elements such as precipitation, wind, and high/low temperatures. This position is occasionally sedentary; however, attending meetings and canvassing out in the communities is also frequently required. The person in the position will frequently be expected to move about to accomplish tasks and move between sites. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and audiovisual systems. The person in this position frequently communicates with community members and must be able to exchange accurate information. Ability to occasionally work evening and weekend hours as needed; ability and willingness to travel in the state or nationally for up to 30% of the time.

Schedule and Location: 

Shared office space in Maricopa County with some nights and weekends required. 

Compensation:

This position is a full-time role in our $68,000 - $80,000 salary range. Benefits include health care, dental, vision, 401k, sick leave, paid family medical leave and vacation time.
