Descripción

About BEAM — BEAM creates pathways for students from low-income and historically marginalized communities to become scientists, mathematicians, engineers, and computer scientists. We believe that pathways to STEM careers are created through community, individual support, and access to advanced work that typically lies outside school curricula.

BEAM provides continuous support from middle school through college graduation. We serve more than 400 middle schoolers each summer at intense (and fun!) academic summer programs. Each school year, we serve more than 500 students with weekend classes, mentoring, and STEM-focused support through college. In addition to our academic content, bringing students into community is a key part of our work.

BEAM is a dynamic and growing organization. Since 2019, we have grown from $3M in annual revenue to nearly $9M today. With our recent strategic plan, our team has committed to transforming the organization from a successful startup to a mature, scalable organization that can drive change across the country.

For more information, visit our website at www.beammath.org.

About the Advancement Team — The Advancement Team raises the revenue to fuel BEAM’s work and growth, and thoughtfully stewards BEAM’s donors — individuals, corporations, and foundations. The team has 6 full-time staff members. We expect to raise ~$9M this year and $10M next year, with further growth over the next 5+ years.

About the Role — The Individual Giving and Communications Manager will work closely with the Director of Individual Giving and will be on the ground floor of developing a vibrant and impactful Individual Giving program at BEAM. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys opportunities to be creative, to work both independently and collaboratively, and to take initiative; someone who is excited to step into a strategic new role, learn, and grow. This is an exciting opportunity to have a big impact on a small Advancement team, and to support equity in the STEM education space.
