We are seeking to fill a Race & Social Justice Coordinator position. The Race & Social Justice Coordinator position will be paid in the range of $29.1 - $43.65 Hourly (D.O.E, knowledge, skills, and abilities)

 Summary of Duties:

  • Facilitates and advances SHA’s ongoing strategies to do bold and impactful work that makes a meaningful, positive difference in the lives of SHA staff and in SHA’s workplace culture. 
  • Advancing implementation of the strategies and objectives of groups comprising SHA’s RSJ infrastructure (presently, the RSJ Steering Committee RSJI Committee and SHA’s Affinity/Caucus Groups).
  • Frequent communication with staff, Cabinet members and external partners are a core component of the role.
  • Commitment to individual and organizational learning and proficiency in racial equity tools and methods.
  • Proficiency in project managementadult learningsystems designrelationship building, and training are necessary.

The Seattle Housing Authority has a COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement Policy that requires all regular, part-time, and temporary employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for the health and safety of its workplace and community. New hires must provide proof to SHA Human Resources by their first day of employment that they are fully vaccinated. Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s in Public Policy, Nonprofit Management, Strategic Design and Management, Ethnic Studies, or a related field preferred, but not required.

EXPERIENCE:

At least 3 years of experience working in racial equity, public policy, strategic planning, systems design, project management, communications, and/or community engagement and relationship building, preferably in combination. Additional years of experience may serve in lieu of a degree. Experience working with a large diverse workforce of people with different cultures, backgrounds, and opinions.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Valid Washington Driver's License with fully insurable driving record.

 Competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of RSJ principles and change agent and anti-racists strategies.

Knowledge of skills to support groups in dialogue, exchange information and ideas and learning with demonstrated experience in using these practices.

Knowledge of adult learning strategies.

Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.

Ability to organize work and proactively track and communicate progress toward goals to stakeholders.
