The organization operates four main programs across the U.S. and globally, including: Project Learning Garden, Project Hero, Green Heart STEM Challenge for Environmental Justice, and Planeteer Alliance.

Salary: $55,000 – $65,000/ year plus full benefits package

OVERVIEW

Captain Planet Foundation is seeking an Information Systems Manager to join our team. The role focuses on managing and maintaining a variety of digital tools and systems critical to the organization’s operations. This is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented and strategic thinker to contribute to the success and scaling of an organization with a strong reputation and global name recognition. The Information Systems Manager will play a key role in optimizing digital workflows and systems, managing and enhancing a system of digital properties, driving operational and programmatic efficiency at scale.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning and Leadership:
  • Recommend, maintain, and implement a web and information management strategy that advances the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Identify and implement innovative technologies to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
• Web Development and Management
  • Manage, maintain, improve, and enhance the digital tools that support the organization’s programmatic operations including websites (WordPress-based), and community and contest management platforms (SaaS).
  • Work to continuously improve accessibility of web content
• Digital Infrastructure Management:
  • Continuous improvement of the digital ecosystem to improve efficiency and user-experience.
  • Work with program and operational teams to support maintenance and integrity of information management infrastructure -- CRM (Salesforce), Zapier, etc.
  • Develop and manage processes to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of information and digital systems.
  • Ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions
• Constituent & User Data Management and Security:
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and security of all data.
  • Oversee data management, including data collection, storage, analysis, reporting, retention, and destruction.
  • Manage the security of the network and data, including implementing disaster recovery strategies and back-up procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations, especially COPPA and other child-protection regulations.
  • Oversee the application lifecycle management plan to minimize the number of disparate systems, control costs, and improve the ease of providing analytics to the organization.
• Project Management:
  • Design and build web-based assets and workflows to support new programmatic campaigns.
  • Design and build web-based processes within programs to facilitate a public-facing workflow that maximizes efficiencies.
  • Manage foundation’s websites including SaaS platforms.
  • Track and report on project progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify technology needs and implement solutions.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field.
• Proven experience as an Information Systems Manager or similar role with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in managing digital information systems.
• Excellent understanding of CMS and CRM system development and management
• Working familiarity with online privacy laws, information security, and compliance requirements Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Self-directed and detail oriented
• Team player with a sense of humor
