  1. About

The Frontline Peoples Vatican Council is an 18-month campaign to integrate the frontline definition of global climate reparations [GCR Definition] with the Catholic Church's Jubilee Year of 2025. Embracing the history of Jubilee 2000 and the Drop the Debt campaigns, we see the Jubilee 2025 as a real opportunity to continue and strengthen the groundwork that was laid 25 years ago in the calls for debt cancellation and embracing sovereignty and justice.  Building upon the momentum of Laudato Si & Laudato Deum, there is a critical opportunity for transformation within the Catholic Church to advance Black liberation and climate justice through the practice of repair, redemption, and transformation.

The Council will consist of frontline climate leaders (non-Catholic and Catholic) as well as aligned partners moving justice within the Catholic Church to advance the frontline demands for debt cancellation, land-back, and climate tithing in a campaign of redemption as a part of the Jubilee 2025.

This role is an 18 month role, starting immediately and ending in February 2026, with an option and opportunity for renewal on future campaigns that replicate this work.
