Middle School ELA Tutor

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School English Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the English language and a proven track record of helping students improve their language and literature skills.

The school follows an alternating A/B schedule. Tutoring sessions are from 9 AM to 11:30 every other day and 10:30 AM to 2:45 every other day.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement personalized lesson plans for middle school students (6th grade) in English language arts
• Conduct one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions focusing on reading comprehension, writing skills, grammar, and literature analysis
• Assess students' language proficiency and track their progress over time
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their English skills
• Utilize various teaching methods and materials to engage diverse learning styles
• Assist students with homework assignments and test preparation
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about students' progress
• Create a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters intellectual growth
• Adapt teaching methods to meet individual students' needs and learning styles
• Stay updated on middle school English curriculum standards and best practices in teaching

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field
• Teaching certification or relevant qualifications (preferred)
• Proven experience as an English tutor or teacher, preferably with middle school students
• Strong knowledge of middle school English language arts curriculum
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience and empathy towards students
• Ability to create engaging and interactive lessons
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proficiency in using educational technologies and online learning platforms
• Commitment to continuous professional development
