What we want
The Institute for Disaster Resilient Texas is seeking a Data Scientist who will be responsible for the development of complex statistical modeling to abstract problems and discovering insights through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mathematical optimization and visualization techniques. Developing and improving upon statistical analysis and predictive models to support the institute’s critical business process and initiatives including forecasting short and long-term trends. We seek to hire a candidate who will support our commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accountability (IDEA) as stated above. The successful candidate will have a Masters in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related and have experience in a field focused on disaster mitigation, and experience working on federal and state funded grants. We are looking to hire a candidate who is a team player and who will promote collaboration and cooperation while leading and working within a team.
