CCF operates in Cambodia through strong support relationship development and fundraising businesses in USA, Australia, UK, and Hong Kong. It has grown rapidly since its inception. To support the development, CCF is currently looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Major Gift and Bequest Manager based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia (Option Australia or US).
Reporting to the Global Development Director and liaising directly with the Executive Director of Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF), the Major Gift and Bequest Manager will initiate and develop effective relationships with key individuals to generate income to meet set financial and non-financial targets through the bequest and major gift programs.
In addition, the Major Gift and Bequest Manager is a member of the senior management team, responsible for contributing to strategic decision-making on CCF matters.
Key responsibilities:
· Work with the Development Managers in each fundraising office to develop and implement CCF’s major gift and bequest strategy, with the aim of growing the number of confirmed major gifts and bequests to CCF.
· Work closely with Executive Director to actively manage a portfolio of high level donors, prospects, and bequestors, with the aim of maximizing the value of their gifts to CCF.
· Build on existing advancement efforts and proactively support the Executive Director and other team members in the management of high level donors, prospects, and bequestors, implementing engagement, stewardship, cultivation and recognition events and activities that generate short and long-term results while deepening and diversifying CCF’s funding base.
· Plan and implement an integrated approach to attracting bequest prospects and stewarding confirmed bequestors through targeted supporter communication, media promotion and a range of donor engagement activities (phone calls, personalized mailings, face to face visits, and donor engagement events).
· Work alongside the Grants team to identify and submit applications to Trusts and Foundations for philanthropic support of CCF.
· Build internal relationships to ensure wide knowledge and support of CCF’s major gift and bequest program.
· Ensure database administration is frequently updated as a record of visits and communication.
· Actively contributes to other CCF activities as needed.
· Liaison with CCF’s global board members on their introduction of networks to CCF and fundraising initiatives.
Requirements:
· An established fundraising professional with at least 4 years of relevant non-profit development and/or communications experience;
· Superior writing, proofreading, and editing abilities; have a customer service approach to communications with donors and other VIPs;
· Well-developed organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities;
· A strong work ethic, ability to maintain and model high personal, ethical, and professional standards, as well as an outgoing and positive personality with creativity, patience, a sense of humor, and perspective;
· A passion and commitment for the mission of CCF and have a clear understanding and appreciation for poverty alleviation, education for underserved population, gender, and or economic development;
· Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills, with proven success tailoring messages to a variety of audiences, particularly in articulating organizational alignment with donor interests;
· Ability to develop and enhance strong communications standards and workflows while working with Communications to disseminate donor-focused content across multiple mediums, including social media, newsletters, and more;
· Independent thinking with openness and excitement for new ideas; passion for a collegial team environment and working with multiple colleagues on different projects at the same time.
