Job Description
The Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College is seeking a freelance social media consultant that can strategize our social media campaigns, create content, and manage our social media presence to effectively grow and engage our audience across all our social media platforms (Instagram, X [formally Twitter], Facebook, and LinkedIn).
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and create engaging content across multiple social media platforms.
- Maintain the school’s brand consistency in design, tone, voice, and terminology.
- Utilize existing social media publication design templates and possibly the creation of new publication design templates.
- Develop and implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and outreach.
- Research social media trends to inform management of changes that are relevant to the school’s marketing activities.
- Strong project management knowledge and skills used to oversee and maintain a monthly editorial calendar to track and publish weekly and monthly social media campaigns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or similar.
- Minimum 1-2 years experience or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Thorough understanding of all social media platforms
- Somewhat proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro)
- Good communication skills, creative, proficient in editing, strong writing skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
