Program Manager -Therapeutic Equestrian Center (PATH)

The Program Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the therapeutic equestrian program operations (PATH), ensuring high-quality service delivery that aligns with the mission of the organization. This role involves managing program staff, developing and enforcing program standards, coordinating with healthcare professionals, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Oversight: Lead the development and implementation of programmatic strategies to enhance therapeutic outcomes. Oversee the scheduling, curriculum development, and delivery of all equestrian programs.
• Staff Management: Hire, train, and supervise program staff including instructors and volunteers. Ensure ongoing professional development and accreditation of staff.
• Client Relations: Work closely with participants and families to ensure programs meet their therapeutic needs. Address and resolve any issues to ensure participant satisfaction.
• Safety and Compliance: Maintain rigorous safety standards in all areas of program operation. Ensure compliance with national therapeutic riding standards and manage accreditation processes.
• Budget Management: Develop and oversee the program budget, ensuring resources are used efficiently and effectively.
• Partnership Development: Collaborate with healthcare providers and community organizations to promote the program and expand service reach.
• Reporting: Monitor and report on program outcomes, providing insights and recommendations to the executive team and board of directors.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
• Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (PATH) - Advanced or able to obtain within a year.
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a therapeutic riding program or similar setting.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of equine behavior and safe handling practices (English riding).

Work Environment and Conditions:

This position requires a mix of administrative and on-site work. The candidate should be comfortable working outdoors and around animals.

Regular weekend or evening hours may be required to oversee program operations and events.
