You’re a self-starter with a knack for expanding donor portfolios even when you don’t have a playbook or when you receive minimal guidance. This role can be located anywhere in the US, with ideal locations being major cities where there is a Phoenix presence and significant fundraising opportunities (e.g. Boston, New York, Los Angeles, San Diego). This role will be crucial in supporting the organization by maximizing the cultivation and stewardship of our current portfolio of mid-sized and major donors, as well as growing this portfolio through a variety of channels. The ideal candidate will be adept at writing in multiple voices, comfortable navigating fundraising software platforms, and well-versed in logistics coordination. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Stewardship & Cultivation
  • Develop and implement strategies to cultivate and steward mid-level donors, ensuring they feel valued and engaged with our organization
  • Regularly communicate with donors through personalized thank-you notes, emails, calls, and other forms of recognition
  • Collaborate with the development team to create tailored stewardship plans for key major donors, including recognition opportunities and impact reports
  • Pipeline Management & Operations
  • Manage the donor pipeline from identification to solicitation, tracking donor interactions and ensuring timely follow-up
  • Utilize donor management software and CRM to maintain accurate donor records, track interactions, and analyze giving trends
  • Identify and prioritize prospective donors based on capacity, interest, and affinity for our organization's mission
  • Donor Prospecting
  • Conduct comprehensive research on prospective donors to assess their philanthropic interests, giving capacity, and connection to our mission
  • Utilize various research tools and databases to gather information on donor backgrounds, wealth indicators, and giving history
  • Prepare detailed donor profiles and briefings for frontline fundraisers and leadership team members
  • Scheduling and Coordination
  • Manage the scheduling, planning and execution process for major donor meetings, calls, and events, coordinating logistics and ensuring all parties are well-prepared
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for donors, responding promptly to inquiries, requests, and invitations
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure seamless coordination of donor-related activities and events

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 years of experience in development or fundraising, with a focus on donor stewardship and pipeline management 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with donors, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce (or comparable CRM) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices, donor research techniques, and ethical standards in philanthropy
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for donor events and meetings
  • Availability to work 1-2 days per week onsite if located near a Phoenix facility
  • Ability to travel ~6-8 times per year and occasionally work evenings and weekends

SALARY AND BENEFITS

  • $76,000 - $84,000 annually
