    Descripción

    The Program Coordinator is a temporary, part-time role that supports the CWC’s Drop-In program. The role is fully on site. Hours are 11am-7pm Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with some limited flexibility.

    This role will provide coverage for staff on leave and is temporary in nature. Expected end date is January 31, 2025, with some flexibility.

    Responsibilities

    • Open and set up the space each shift, which includes re-stocking supplies and transferring food to the kitchen 
    • Oversee the drop-in program, creating a safe and welcoming environment for all participants
    • De-escalate conflicts in the space when volunteers and interns need assistance
    • Setting boundaries with guests, including enforcing suspensions, as needed
    • Oversee food distribution and maintain good kitchen hygiene
    • Support volunteers and interns, providing guidance and emotional support
    • Manage the cleaning of the space at the end of each shift, including removal of trash compost, and recycling from the kitchen
    • Communicate supply needs and maintenance issues to the Executive Director and/or other staff in a timely fashion
    • Close the building at the end of each shift, including turning off lights and AC/heat, and locking doors

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have many of the following qualities:

    • Experience working or volunteering directly with adults 
    • Experience de-escalating conflict
    • The ability to make decisions on the fly
    • The ability to work independently and to lead a team; experience leading teams of volunteers is preferred
    • The ability to work effectively with people from all backgrounds, including adults who are unhoused and have mental illness and/or substance use disorders; some experience working with these populations is preferred
    • A commitment to centering racial equity and dismantling white supremacy

    Honesty, integrity, and reliability are paramount.
