Position Summary

In the first year of this new role, the Community Health Manager (CHM) will focus on program development and holistic community relationship building while supporting Guests’ social and emotional determinants of health through a humanizing and affirming community. While building relationships with Guests and service providers in the local community, and in collaboration with the program team, the CHM will effectively lead the co-creation of a comprehensive, holistic, and evidence-based community health program. 

Long term, the CHM will have primary responsibilities related to managing, assessing, and (re)development of the community health program offerings including but not limited to 

resource navigation, Guest care continuum, support groups, and training consistent with the organization’s values of radical hospitality and community practice, the needs of its Guests, and alignment with the mission, vision, and strategic plan of Rahab’s Sisters.

The CHM reports to the Executive Director and direct reports will be determined as the CHM builds the Community Health Program. The CHM’s regular work days are Monday through Friday with some evenings and occasional weekends.

You are excited to be part of a team of passionate individuals that regularly examines its practice for disrupting patriarchy, anti-racism, gender justice, and radical hospitality.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
  • Passion and support for the Rahab’s Sisters mission and Radical Hospitality. 
  • Commitment to disrupting racism, homophobia, transphobia, classism, and ableism. 
  • Commitment to harm reduction and anti-carceral values/approaches.
  • Communicate clearly and be comfortable building relationships in a cross-cultural context.
  • Demonstrated competence and experience in working in a highly collaborative, growing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide, receive, and implement constructive feedback.
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy, and ability to manage multiple projects from start to finish.
  • Strong interpersonal and decision making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with community partners and external resources.
  • 2-years of experience, and demonstrated ability of providing assessments and crisis intervention to adults experiencing severe and persistent mental health issues, houselessness, and/or substance use.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, mandatory reporting laws, and confidentiality best practices.
  • Demonstrated professional and ethical behavior
  • Proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets and MS word or Google Docs, Google Workspace, and a personal computer. 
  • Ability to traverse stairs.
