The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH).
FPHNYC has a long history of advancing public health for all New Yorkers. Since our founding in 2002, we’ve raised over $500 million in public and private funding for over 450 projects, making New York City healthier and safer for all. We work closely with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to pilot, implement, and expand innovative public health programs, many of which are taken to scale city-wide for a lasting impact on individual and community health. FPHNYC has a fundraising portfolio comprised mostly of public grants and private philanthropy and is seeking to grow individual and corporate giving.
FPHNYC has four distinct roles: (1) facilitates partnerships between the public and private sectors to develop, test, and launch new public health initiatives that advance the health of all New Yorkers; (2) raises funding to launch new pilots and/or expand programs, (3) administratively manages a large portfolio of contracts and grants on behalf of the DOHMH, and (4) raises awareness of public health issues and promotes DOHMH and FPHNYC’s priorities and achievements.
FPHNYC is currently undergoing a strategic planning process with Bridgespan which will be launched in October 2024.
