Job Title: Housing Stabilization Coordinator

Reports to: Program Director

Status & Salary: Non-exempt, $23-26/hour at 32 hours/week


The Housing Stabilization Coordinator is a remote 32-hour/week position with preference for folx based in the SF Bay Area. This position is confirmed through June 2024, with continuation based on grant funding. This position is non-exempt and reports to the Program Director.

Overview

Founded in 1976, Community Boards operates the longest-running nonprofit conflict resolution and restorative justice center in the US. We offer a range of conflict resolution and restorative justice services: mediation, conflict coaching, circles, facilitation, and trainings. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.


The Housing Stabilization Coordinator… 

  1. Plans and delivers services for our Rising Up program and ensures that the grant deliverables are met
  2. Acts as the point person for the young adult and transitional age youth housing program to ensure that the participants and case managers are being linked with Community Boards’ service providers.


Responsibilities

  • Base engagement – cultivating connection among participants and providers in the Rising Up program
  • Coordinate activities for participants in the Housing Stabilization program
  • Create and lead workshops and trainings for youth and providers
  • Provide one-on-one support to youth, providers, and landlords
  • Check intake line and emails daily and lead intake, case development, and mediation and coaching sessions for clients
  • Work with shared housing program partner organizations to provide recommendations for and direct services
  • Maintain records and data for reports 
  • Attend meetings and provide on-going orientations to new clients and service providers
  • Support growth and development of the Housing Stabilization programs and help innovate with new initiatives
  • Provide support for future recommendations and grant applications
  • Take Conflict Coaching 101, the Basics of Mediation, and other Community Boards trainings
  • Represent Community Boards’ programs at monthly stakeholder meetings


Required and Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a warm and friendly demeanor (required)
  • Comfortable working with participants and service providers with diverse racial, gender, and class identities via telephone, email, and Zoom and helping them through stressful situations (required)
  • Ability to stay impartial while working with multiple stakeholders in conflict, such as landlords and tenants (required)
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of client information (required)
  • Ability to work efficiently both remotely and in-person, independently completing assigned tasks in a timely manner (required)
  • Working knowledge of computers, Zoom, & Google Suite (required)
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Salesforce or similar CRM database (required)
  • A team player: excellent interpersonal communication skills and enjoy working with other people on program services (required)


  • Experience with community organizing (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • Experience working with youth (preferred)
  • Experience working in conflict resolution, positive coaching, and homeless services (preferred)
  • Alternative dispute resolution experience and/or training (preferred)
  • Familiar with the tenets of trauma-informed care and non-violent communication (preferred)
