Job Description: Program Manager - Cure Violence Program at 100 Suits for 100 Men in Queens

100 Suits for 100 Men is seeking an experienced manager with integrity, a professional manner and attitude, and a commitment to community service to fill the position of Program Manager with Crisis Management System’s violence reduction initiative. This position involves leading a team of ten (and growing) individuals in the implementation of the Cure Violence program model.

Organization Overview:

100 Suits for 100 Men is a community-based organization dedicated to reducing gun violence and providing support to men, women and children in need, particularly those re-entering society after incarceration. As part of its efforts, the organization operates a Cure Violence program within its Crisis Management System site in Queens, New York.

Position: Program Manager

  • Location: Queens, New York
  • Reports to: Executive Director


  • Oversee all aspects of the Cure Violence program at 100 Suits for 100 Men in Queens, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Manage program staff, including recruitment, training, supervision, and performance evaluation.
  • Collect and analyze data to measure program impact and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all program requirements and regulations.
  • Represent the organization at community meetings, events, and conferences.
  • Complete all Cure Violence training.
  • Engage in ongoing learning about the program model and community violence.
  • Conduct morning briefings with the program outreach team (Outreach Workers and Violence Interrupters) to review conflict and violence issues in the target neighborhood and set each day’s goals and activities.
  • Model a professional demeanor and attitude for program staff.
  • Provide supervision and support to the Director of Operations and Outreach Supervisor.
  • Set and lead staff in pursuit of daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
  • Provide staff with ongoing coaching in the Cure Violence program model.
  • Provide staff with ongoing feedback and professional development.
  • Prepare program progress reports and ensure punctual submission.
  • Ensure faithful implementation of all components of the Cure Violence program model.
  • Ensure that all program activities and violent incidents are documented in the Cure Violence reports.
  • Review staff daily logs weekly and Care4 Database entries at least once each month.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping for Cure Violence program staff by reviewing and approving their schedules and hours for payroll processing.
  • Lead the neighborhood coalition and implement partnership-building strategies.
  • Liaison with the NYPD local district commander.
  • Serve as a liaison with other CMS sites and DYCD staff.
  • Oversee planning of CMS community activities and events, including shooting response events.
  • Ensure that program participants are effectively served.
  • Oversee the design, production, and targeting of public education materials.
  • Conduct community organization.
  • Attend all meetings with the city wide CMS network.

Cure Violence Program Managers must be organized and experienced professionals who possess the following


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, public health, criminal justice) required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management, preferably in violence prevention or community development.
  • Knowledge of the Queens community and its social dynamics.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a management or professional leadership role.
  • Residence/past residence in Southeast Queens or organic familiarity with residents of the neighborhoods served in the 105th precinct.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise a staff of 10 or more individuals, most of whom have minimal or no experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a project team in mastering and applying new concepts, skills, and practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Facility with Microsoft Suite and desktop publishing.
  • Knowledge of database input and report generating.
  • Experience in community-based human service programming.
  • Working understanding of conflict and violence.
  • Knowledge of conflict mediation.
  • Knowledge of accepted basic counseling practices.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and data analysis software.
  • Experience working with Cure Violence or similar violence prevention programs is a plus.
