Project Manager, Information Technology

The Center for Court Innovation is a non-profit organization that works to create a more effective and humane justice system by performing original research and helping launch reforms around the world. The Center creates operating projects that have been documented to reduce the use of jail and prison, assist victims of crime, and strengthen communities. Nationally and internationally, the Center performs original research and provides consulting services to justice innovators.

The Center’s Technology Support and Strategy Department is seeking a Project Manager, Information Technology (IT). Reporting to the Associate Director of Technical Support, the Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of IT projects across the organization, creating and managing protocols for project deployment and technical support, and assisting the team with providing support to organizational staff.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Contribute to an organization-wide technology roadmap that includes managing project timelines, overseeing costs and assessing potential project risks;
• Develop strategies for prioritizing implementing requirements across a range of IT projects and initiatives;
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects across the multi-site organization;
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget;
• Ensure resource availability and allocation and engage organizational staff based on skills and strengths;
• Develop a detailed project plan to monitor, track and routinely report on progress;
• Track and monitor project execution using appropriate tools and techniques;
• Report and escalate risks and issues to management as needed;
• Manage the relationship with vendors, business sponsors and all project stakeholders;
• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors;
• Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members;
• Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs and projects;
• Assist with rolling out security initiatives;
• Install, upgrade and troubleshoot printers, network equipment, desktop/laptop computers and Macintosh and Windows-based software;
• Plan network infrastructure and security with regards to scalability and redundancy, ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization;
• Evaluate new technologies that may improve user experience and technology for the organization;
• Follow Agile framework and processes such as leading team standups, participating in retrospectives, and fostering IT team development where appropriate;
• Assist the Technology Department with improving processes and communication to be more efficient and work towards the organization's mission;
• Collaborate with NYS Unified Court System’s IT staff with security and network management;
• Collaborate with teammates to keep an up-to-date equipment inventory;
• Other relevant tasks, as necessary.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience as IT professional as well as minimum of 2 years with organization and planning. The ideal candidate must have knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and SCCM. Knowledge of Hyper-V environment, PowerShell, TeamViewer, ESET, MaaS360 MDM, and VoIP phone systems is a plus. Knowledge of ITSM as well as Agile practices and principles. The candidate must have the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and team-oriented, collaborative environment. The candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate technical issues to non-technical staff. The candidate must be highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently, with minimal direction. Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles. They must possess keen attention to detail and the ability to shift priorities. Occasional travel to remote offices in and around NYC will be required.
